Neuroacoustic sound therapy

Think of neuroacoustics as a digital drug that “biohacks” your brain with healing pulses of sound. By applying specific sound frequencies and rhythms (binaural beats) to induce a desired brain state, the ORB is able to shift the mind from the Beta brain state (wide awake and alert) to the Alpha (relaxed and creative), Theta (deeper relaxation and meditative) or Delta (deep sleep and healing) brain states in 20-to 50-minute sessions, depending on desired results.

Neuroacoustics turbocharges memory and creativity, while melting away stress and tackling common issues like migraines or insomnia with healing pulses of sound.

How it works

Sound therapy has been shown to relax the nervous system, improve state of mind and enhance the immune system, while aiding in sleep, pain relief and just uplifting our state of being. Binaural beats deliver a  marginally different sound frequency sent simultaneously to each ear. When hearing two tones of different frequencies, the brain perceives a third tone, producing brainwaves at the same rate. An audible form of healing that employs sound frequencies (measured in hertz).

Chakra balancing music is the art of using sound to balance the seven energy centers (chakras). Each chakra responds to a specific sound-healing frequency, known as solfeggio frequencies. Each frequency has spiritual and physical healing properties. Frequencies make up an ancient 6-tone scale used in sacred music and chanting.

Tree of Life vibroacoustic therapy

Vibroacoustic therapy elevates the ORB’s sound therapy efficacy by passing pure low frequency wave vibrations into the body. This therapy is recognized by the FDA for its proven ability to increase circulation, deliver pain relief, and increase joint mobility. It’s also currently being used in trials to treat fibromyalgia and Alzheimer’s, among others.

How it works

The human body is made up of an energy field that is in constant vibration at multiple frequencies. Vibroacoustic therapy uses low frequency (sinusoidal) vibrations between 30-120Hz that bring the body into a state of healthy resonance.

When the body’s energy flow is deficient or obstructed, it can make us feel unwell both in mind and body. The ORB combines sound and vibro therapy that work on the body’s chakra points, freeing up energy and stimulating nerve bundles along the spine, into the brainstem and then throughout the limbic system. In addition, the sound stimulates the medulla in the brain stem and activates the auditory nerve that connects with all the muscles of the body. These reactions signal the body to relax and flood the brain with mood-lifting chemicals. In addition, the low frequencies relax the tissues, dilate the blood vessels and open the lymphatic pathways which, in turn, increase the body’s ability to heal.

Aromatherapy inhalation therapy

The concept of aromatherapy, or using scent to treat “dis-ease,” is a centuries-old medicinal practice. And, thanks to leaps in technology, fragrance development and neuroscience studies, this age-old treatment is now recognized for its evidence-based results.

Research has shown that fragrances have significant measurable effects on mood, particularly eight major factors: irritation, stress, depression, apathy, happiness, sensuality, relaxation and stimulation.

How it works

When inhaled, the scent molecules in essential oils travel from the olfactory nerves directly to the brain, impacting the amygdala, or the emotional center of the brain. The ORB’s aromatherapy is natural and organic.

“The future of fragrance will be using scent to ‘biohack’ our brains and bodies to perform better,” says Joanne DeLuca a futurist from Sputnik Futures.

Tree of Life chromotherapy

The illuminated Tree of Life (or Mandala chakra) embedded in the ORB’s ceiling sets the scene for the holistic ORB experience, which marries ancient holistic practices with high-tech wellness biohacks. The Tree of Life serves to calm, relax and open up the mind, body and soul for the treatment and is enhanced with chromotherapy (color therapy), the practice of using color to regain mental balance.

How it works

Colors affect our mental processes and can alter our mood. The human eye is sensitive to electromagnetic radiation at wavelengths roughly between 380 and 780 nm. This small segment is called the visible spectrum or visible light. When visible light enters us through our eyes, it may produce a certain psychological and have an energetical effect within the body. Every color creates different effects. The ORB’s treatment protocols are designed to utilize all the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet and all the vibrations thereof.

Oxygen therapy

Proponents of oxygen therapy believe that hits of purified oxygen boost energy levels, relieve stress, and may even cure hangovers.

How it works

Bubbling oxygen through bottles containing aromatic solutions creates a vaporized scent that is pumped into the nostrils.

Tree of Life Near-infrared therapy

The ORB’s Tree of Life can be illuminated with near-infrared light therapy (850nm), harnessing the benefits of the sun, without being exposed to harmful ultraviolet rays. Once absorbed, the light energy kickstarts a series of metabolic events, triggering several natural processes of the body on a cellular level.

Infrared light therapy is applied in the treatment of various health conditions, including back pain, arthritis, bursitis, blunt trauma, muscle strain, carpal tunnel syndrome, neck pain, back pain, diabetic neuropathy, rheumatoid arthritis, temporomandibular joint pain (TMJ), tendonitis, wounds, sciatica, and surgical incisions.

How it works

Infrared light penetrates to the inner layers of the skin at about 2 to 7 centimeters deep. Hence, it reaches the muscles, nerves and even the bones. Studies have shown that a frequency of infrared light, with wavelengths from 700 to 1,000 nanometers, is best used for healing inflammatory conditions. The increase in the blood flow to the different parts of the body makes it possible for oxygen and nutrients to reach the cells, enabling them to function properly and effectively. Hence, this therapy stimulates the regeneration and repair of injured tissues, reducing pain and inflammation.

Air compression massage

The ORB’s air compression massage uses controlled pressure to increase blood flow in your legs and improve blood flow to the heart, while supporting blood flow and decreases swelling. The ORB’s leg compression massage speeds up the body’s recovery by flushing the body of toxins and lactic acid buildup.

How it works

Our leg compression cuffs generate peristaltic pulses that create rhythmic alternate contraction and relaxation of the muscle, which aids the lymphatic and cardiovascular systems to fast track the removal of metabolic waste. The veins are passively flushed of toxins, creating a faster recovery from work outs, resulting in less stress on the body.

Halotherapy (salt therapy)

Salt has long been considered beneficial to lung health. In the mid-1800s, doctors began to observe that salt mine workers experienced a significantly reduced number of respiratory diseases. Since then, research has shown that salt inhalation provides immune-boosting, respiratory-system benefits and can also treat skin disorders. The ORB’s dry salt therapy helps decrease inflammation and open up airway passages while helping clearing allergens and toxins from the respiratory system.

How it works

Regular use of salt inhalation is said to deliver anti-inflammatory benefits and give relief to a wide range of respiratory health conditions, including asthma, allergies, bronchitis, COPD, sinusitis and more – and for skin conditions from psoriasis to acne.

PEMF Mattress

PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field. Devices that utilize PEMF technology emit electromagnetic waves at different frequencies in order to stimulate and encourage your body’s natural recovery process.

How it works

Pulsed electromagnetic fields induce an electrical current inside the body that helps to restore the blocked ion flow and stimulate the body’s own regeneration processes. As a result of using the mattress, the body attains a higher energy level, fatigue is alleviated, and overall well-being is approved.
